Posters for ‘Attack on Titan: The Last Attack’ and ‘Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory Arc’
Indian anime fans are set for a major treat with the upcoming theatrical release of Attack on Titan: The Last Attack and Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie. The news was confirmed at the Anime India event in Mumbai, where licensor and distributor Medialink revealed posters featuring the logo of PVR Inox Pictures, which will handle the India distribution.
Attack on Titan: The Last Attack is a feature-length compilation of the final chapters of the acclaimed anime series. Running 145 minutes, the film updates the original TV episodes with enhanced lighting, improved visuals, and 5.1 surround sound. It also includes a post-credits sequence not seen in the broadcast version. Directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, the film was released in Japan in November 2023 and rolled out internationally earlier this year. India’s release date is yet to be announced.
Speaking about the project, Hayashi said, “I originally drew the storyboards [for The Final Chapters] with the idea that it would be watched as a single movie. So, having the opportunity to have everyone watch it in the best possible environment, the theatre, is a dream come true for me.”
Also confirmed for release is Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie. The film adapts the fan-favorite manga arc by Gege Akutami, tracing the high school years of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. Set in 2006, the story follows the pair as they attempt to protect Riko Amanai, a girl tied to the Jujutsu society’s survival, while facing deadly interference from the assassin known as the Sorcerer Killer.
The twin releases build on the growing momentum of anime cinema in India. Titles such as the Demon Slayer movies and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 saw strong box office turnout in recent years, proving that theatrical anime has a dedicated and expanding audience in the country.
